Côte d’Ivoire woke up this Friday, February 21, 2020 with the powerful images of the wedding of Koné Seydou, alias Alpha Blondy with Aelyssa Darragi, host of “Alpha Blondy FM”. A sober and somewhat discreet ceremony but rich by the quality of the guests, and the civil registrar in charge of the celebration of this marriage, who was none other than the Minister of State, Minister of Defence, deputy of Séguéla and Mayor of the Commune of Abobo, Hamed Bakayoko.

As soon as the marriage was celebrated, the daughter of the artist, Soukeïna Koné, came forward and made three accusations against her father and his girlfriend. The first is that the new wife has practised witchcraft against her father, which would have practically disoriented her and distanced her from her children and her wife. The objective here is to take his heart.

Secondly, she denounced the marriage celebrated by the Ivorian authorities while the man was still bound by the jails of the marriage sealed 25 years ago with Kan, his first wife. The latter is a case of ”betrayal, moral and financial sequestration”.
In any case, it is clear that there is a problem, which is why Soukeina Koné, his daughter, urges, in her moving address, to pray for her father.

According to Soukeïna Koné, this marriage has no value as her father never divorced her mother.

“God spared me from being in Abidjan on the day of my father’s wedding. I discovered the photos of the different ceremonies like everyone else on the Internet. But a small question has been nagging at me ever since…

However, it was Hamed Bakayoko, Minister of State, Minister of Defence and mayor of the town of Abobo who officiated the marriage of Alpha Blondy to Aelyssa Darragi. The marriage code in Côte d’Ivoire, in its article 390, stipulates: “Whoever is engaged in the bonds of marriage in contact with another before the dissolution of the previous one is punished by an imprisonment of six months to three years and a fine of 50,000 FCFA to 500,000 FCFA. The officer who lends his ministry to this marriage knowing the existence of the previous one is sentenced to the same punishment. The attempt is punishable. Sources close to the Ivorian reggae star, speaking on condition of anonymity, say that Alpha Blondy had obtained a divorce from Soukeïna Koné’s mother from a judge in Abidjan, on the grounds of abandonment of the marital home. This was because his wife had been in the United States for two years. This reason was challenged by the woman concerned. While waiting for clarification from the star, the case is making a lot of noise in Abidjan.
