Last year, the music distribution company and record label decided to open a division in the Americas for North Africa and its diaspora and for West Asia. In 2022, a division will be set up in Lagos, Nigeria, led by Ezegozie Eze Jr, Vice President of Market Development, Kareem Mobalaji, Regional Manager for West Africa and Titilope Adesanya, Project Manager.

This representation will cover the sub-Saharan African markets and Nigeria in particular, but also Ghana, South Africa and the Ivory Coast. Its managers will be responsible, among other things, for promoting and highlighting talent from the African continent.

By the way, the label was created by American entrepreneur and music producer Ghazi Shami. It has been in existence for 12 years now and has worked with top hip-hop artists such as Shaggy, 50Cent and many others. He has also been around in Africa long before he moved there and has made a real contribution to the Nigerian music scene. Through successful collaborations, some of Empire’s musical releases are among the top 35 songs on Apple Music’s Nigeria Top Songs chart in 2021.

In addition, the label already represents African artists such as KiDi and Yaw Tog from Ghana, but also Nigerian artists Olamide, Fireboy DML, and Basketmouth.
