On 13 May, the African Union Commission announced the holding of the 6th edition of the All Africa Awards (Afrima) and revealed the timetable for this event. The first step is the launch of the call for entries. The call is addressed to artists and other professionals in the music sector from the African continent and its diaspora. They have until 2 August to submit their works to the juries of this competition.
Songs and videos submitted must have been produced or released between 1 August 2018 and 2 August 2019. African artists, producers, record label owners, record companies, video directors, disc jockeys, choreographers/dancers, publicists and entertainment/music journalists are eligible for the 36 AFRIMA award categories.
The award ceremony will take place between four days of festivities. Indeed, from 6 to 9 November 2019, the AFRIMAs will feature concerts, conferences and other workshops. Participants will be able to visit the AFRIMA music village and attend the Africa Music Business Summit.
