The single was released on April 17 on digital platforms.

Salatiel, the boss of the Alpha Better Records label, is a sure thing in Cameroonian music. His talent is no longer to be proven. But he always manages to surprise his fans. Each of his releases creates a certain craze.

On 17 April, he released his latest single entitled “Anita”, a melodious song that is full of melancholy.

With gentleness and compassion, “Anita” tells the story of a childhood love between a preacher’s daughter and a young boy. Madly in love, he agreed to wait until marriage to be intimate with his beloved. As a teenager, Anita distanced herself, attracted by the money of other young people.

Only to be confronted with the realities of life when she became pregnant without knowing whose baby it was. She is saved from suicide by a childhood sweetheart who comes upon her as she is about to jump off a bridge. He convinces her not to jump and promises to take her back because he loves her unconditionally.

If the video has already reached almost 750 thousand views on Youtube, it is because fans felt a certain authenticity in the story. Salatiel confirmed this in a Facebook post.

The Cameroonian artist says that the story behind “Anita” is a childhood love. He was in love with a girl (who wouldn’t be called Anita in real life) who ended up distancing herself, first because of the distance, and then in order to couple with a runner he knew. But Salatiel never had the courage to talk to his ex. A few years later, he saw her again. She was pregnant with a man whose identity he still does not know. He admits to having suffered, but assures us that he has moved on.

He simply drew on these emotions to write “Anita” and perform it with sincerity.
