The fans of DJ Arafat did not believe in his death. After the wake that took place at the Félix Houphouet Boigny stadium last Friday and the funeral that followed on Saturday morning, the “Chinese” decided to exhume the body of their idol. Their objective: to verify that it was really their Daishi.

To do this, they destroyed the grave, opened the coffin and groped the remains of the artist, who died on 12 August following a motorbike accident. Photos of the desecration were widely circulated on social networks. The police had to intervene to contain the Chinese.

Once the body was reburied, the police launched an operation to catch the people identified on the videos that had circulated on social networks. Since then, twelve people have been arrested. According to the BBC, the police prefecture has also announced that investigations are continuing and that all those guilty of the desecration will be prosecuted.
