On 30 November 2018, he was named the winner of the Discovery Prize of the Goethe Institute in Yaoundé. He was only 19 years old at the time. But he already has experience in the music world. Cyril Fouda Essomba, his real name, fell in love with it at the age of 9.

At the age of 12, he was already singing in cabarets. Later, he formed a band with some friends. The band did not release any songs. Cysoul then decided to leave Yaoundé for Douala. It was in the economic capital of Cameroon that he met deejay LB, his beatmaker. With him, Cysoul produced about twenty songs. But it was by publishing covers of popular songs, notably Ko-C’s, that he was noticed by Taphis, promoter of the Nuevo Mundo label and manager of the rapper Tenor.

It was under this label that Cysoul released the singles “Bouge” and “C’est dans l’eau”. Afterwards, he signed a seven-track EP entitled ‘Eclosion’, available since 24 April 2019.

On 14 June, Cysoul will perform a live show at the Goethe Institute in Yaoundé. Music lovers will then taste the privilege of a melodious and powerful voice. They will just have to let themselves go…
