Daphne wins four Canal d’or trophies

The young Cameroonian singer made a killing at the award ceremony organised by the private channel Canal 2 International.

Daphne walked a long way on Saturday 9 March in the large hall of the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé. Four times, she had to get up from her seat, walk along an aisle, climb some stairs, take a trophy and say a word to the public who voted for her.

The singer of the hit song “Calée” won the trophies for best female urban music artist or group, best digital performance (with 54.7 million views on Youtube), popular song of the year and best female artist of the year.

Emotionally, the young woman promised to work harder not to disappoint her fans, to stay the course and to remain herself. For the last point, she still had to make a concession during the evening. Daphne changed her dresses between two trophies. The first one was perhaps a bit short for a ceremony in which the First Lady was participating. But then again, you can’t change your clothes! The young singer has been criticised in recent days for her clothing choices, which are often considered “indecent”. To which she replied that she had no intention of changing.

In any case, Daphne entered the annals of the Canal d’or as the first artist to win four trophies in the same evening.
