Yemi Alade has once again made history in the digital African music industry. She is the first African artist to reach one million subscribers on Youtube. This record comes a few months after Yemi Alade reached the one hundred million view mark on the video “Johnny”.

With this millionth subscriber, Yemi Alade joins the club of the most popular Nigerians on the social network, alongside Davido (1.5 million), Diamond Platnumz (2.1 million) and the late P-Square (1.2 million).

In May this year, she set another record by becoming the first Nigerian Afro-pop singer to have 7 million followers on Instagram, slightly more than Tiwa Savage and DJ Cuppy.

Yemi Alade looks set to take the African music industry by storm and the numbers prove she is more than capable.
